Robinson Wild provided specialist heritage consultancy support to The Victorian Society (VicSoc), assisting the organisation in fulfilling its statutory role as a national amenity society and statutory consultee within the English planning system. As a statutory consultee, VicSoc is formally consulted by local planning authorities on planning applications affecting nineteenth and early twentiethcentury listed buildings and structures.
The team reviewed and assessed applications that had the potential to impact the heritage significance of nineteenth century listed buildings, including, but not limited to, proposals for alteration, extension, and demolition.
Each case was considered within its full legislative and policy context in order to provide consultation responses that were robust, proportionate and firmly grounded in established conservation principles.
Through specialist support, Robinson Wild enhanced VicSoc’s casework capacity, ensuring consistent, evidence-based representations that supported the long-term conservation of heritage assets while engaging constructively with applicants and local planning authorities.
